Ramon G. Gonzalez- Dad- Tata

Born September 16, 1934

On September 16, 2024, he celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his loved ones and left this earth on September 20, 2024.

Ramon was born on a small ranch called “La Lechuguilla” in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico, to his parents, Ramon and Maria Gonzalez. He was one of 14 children and at the age of 11 he began to support and care for his siblings.

In the City of Juarez, MX, he worked for a fish wholesaler until he was 20 years old. 1n 1958, he then immigrated to the United States, as part of a migrant worker program and settled in Ocotillo, AZ. He worked by day picking cotton and at night irrigated local farms. It was in Chandler, AZ, where he met his future wife, Francis, and married her just three days later. They moved back to Mexico, where they had their first child and the oldest of 10 children. Several years later, the family moved back to the U.S. and was a foreman for Bogle Farms for 34 years. He eventually went on to farm with his two sons when they founded and co- owned, G&G Farms.

Ramon was an avid gardener and devoted family man. He was a master story- teller showing his many life experiences. He instilled in his children the importance of education and encouraged them all to work with their brains and not their bodies. Most will remember him by his cowboy hat, boots, and most of all his plaid pearl snaps. He was a man of strength and resilience, and we were so blessed to have him in our lives.

He survived by his wife, Francis Gonzales, his children Gloria Gutierrez (Adam), Maria Dreas (Greg), Elsa Gonzales (Ron), Sylvia Holloway (Richard), Roger Gonzales (Linda), Victor Gonzales, Karen Cervantes (Poli), and Laura Eastman (Robert); his grandchildren: Sara Cullumber (Gavin), Bre McDonald (Bobby), Samantha Gutierrez, Anissa Dreas, Christopher Dreas, Ashley Dreas, David Dreas, Candice Madril, Nichole Hutchinson (Shane), Russell Madril, Victoria Brandl (Scott), J.R. Holloway, Isabel Holloway, Isaac Cervantes, Ariel Little, Anthony Little, Matthew Gonzales, Stephanie Gonzales; and his great- grandchildren: Weston, Sophia, Stefan, Chloe, Savannah, Ryker, Lincoln, Natalie, Violet, Xochitl, Ulises, Athena and Tiana. As well as, his sister Irene Lucio, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, twelve siblings, and his two sons: Steven Gonzales and Raul Gonzalez.
