Donald "Don" O. Nixon
March 30th, 1923 - October 2nd, 2024
Donald O. Nixon, age 101, of Venice, FL, passed away on October 2, 2024. He was born in Connellsville, PA on March 30, 1923, to David and Sara Nixon. After retiring as a life insurance agent, Don moved to Venice from Bradford Woods, PA. He was a Navy Air Corp veteran serving in WWII. Don was a member of the Venice Presbyterian Church, Rotary International, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and Lake Venice Golf Club where he managed several leagues.
Surviving family members include his daughter, Sharon Matthews (Donald) of Venice, FL; granddaughter Lauretta Ross (Malcolm) of Columbus, OH; great grandchildren Kiersten Ross of Columbus, OH and Malcolm Ross of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by La’Reva Nixon in 1998, his wife of 58 years.
A gathering of friends and family will be at Farley Funeral Home on Monday, October 14th, from 2 – 4 pm.
