Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others,it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Steven Guy Terrebush, a beloved father, uncle, brother, musician and friend, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 69. Born in Newark, New Jersey, on November 21, 1954, Steven spent his early years in Newark, NJ and later moved to Edison NJ with his parents and sisters where he graduated from Edison High School in Edison, NJ. He learned the auto parts business from a family friend working at various auto parts businesses. He built that into a career as a Parts Manager for numerous General Motors auto dealers, the first and his favorite dealer being June Chevrolet in Metuchen, NJ. Later in life, following his dreams to retire in Florida put him on a journey that would lead him to become a resident of Winter Haven, Florida where he enjoyed the warm sunshine with his best friend, his dog Rocky. Over his life he had many best friend dogs that he found comfort and companionship in.
Steven was a passionate lover of music, with an enduring appreciation for the legendary sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, and The Beatles. Like the music he loved, his guitar was not just an instrument, it was a means through which he connected with the world around him. Steven instilled his love for music in his five children, Steve, Gary, Kevin, Mike, and Steph, passing down not just his knowledge but his deep appreciation for the joy and comfort that music brings.
He is survived by his children, who carry on his love for music and his unique sense of humor and his younger sister Cynthia Spearnock as well as countless friends and family who were touched by his kindness and humor. Steven is predeceased by his second wife, Penny Terrebush, his daughter, Kelly Terrebush, his sister, Donna Lanigan, as well as his parents, Shirley and Steve Terrebush.
As we remember Steven, we celebrate a life filled with music, love, and laughter. His spirit will live on in the melodies he cherished and the lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local music charity, ensuring that the gift of music continues to inspire future generations, just as Steven did. Or a Charity for the Homeless.
Rest in peace, Steven. You will forever echo in our hearts.
