Brenda Esther Winchester May, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on October 5, 2024. She was 74 years old.
She was born on April 23, 1950, in Norton, Virginia to Henry and Flora Rachel Dunavant Winchester and moved with her family as a small child to Winter Haven, Florida where she graduated from Winter Haven High School and moved to Chiefland, Florida in 1998 and as recently as this past May she moved to Lake Wales to be closer to her daughters.
Brenda was a secretary for Comcar for some 15 years where she played on the company softball team and a member of Church of God in Winter Haven. She was a Lady of the Moose in Chiefland, FL where she was quite active in volunteering for children’s events and crocheting for the elderly. Brenda loved to be on her property in Chiefland and taking in all the outdoors offered as well as she enjoyed going on cruises. She will forever be remembered as the life of the party who had a quick and great wit and someone who loved all she knew.
Brenda was predeceased by her father, Henry and her mother and her husband, Flora Rachel and L.E. Hurst and her brother, Robert Winchester. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Wise and her husband, Scott of Lake Wales, FL and Sharon Cribbs and her husband, Randy of Lake Wales, FL; companion of 26 years, Glen Day of Chiefland, FL; grandchildren, Wesley Wise, Rachel Kieffer and her husband, Kegan, Morgan Hill and her husband, Clayton and Garrett Cribbs and great grandchildren, Kenzie, Jase, Kollier and Kasen.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11 am at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City, FL. Memorials may be made to www.stjude.org/donate or to the Winter Haven Moose Lodge 2305 Havendale Blvd NW Winter Haven, FL 33881
