Charles "Chuck" Edwin Downing
April 29th, 1933 - October 13th, 2024

Charles (Chuck) Downing, 91, passed away on October 13, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Chuck was born on April 29, 1933, in Ottumwa, Iowa, and later moved to West Melbourne after proudly serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Monssen.
In his retirement, Chuck found great joy in building Glasair planes and flying them out of the Merritt Island Airport, where he could be found every morning having coffee with his aviator friends.
Chuck is survived by his three sons, David, James, and Alan. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Adam, Brandon, Charles, James, Jamie, Lance, Michael, Misty, Shane, Shannon, and two Stevens, as well as many great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was predeceased by his daughter, Stacy Lynn Anderson, and his brother, Pete Downing.
