Ray W. Allard, age 87, after a long fight with cancer, on October 12, 2024, in Troy, Michigan, where he and his wife Marlene lived since 2011. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Ray and Marlene lived in various states, including New Jersey, California, and a long stint in Austin and Georgetown, Texas. Born January 30, 1937, to Raymond W. Allard, Sr. and Nona Doyle Allard, Ray was predeceased by his parents and sisters Katherine F. Allard and Sr. Nona Mary Allard O.P. Ray is survived by his wife Marlene, children Aileen Allard Gould (Rob), James R. Allard (Geraldine Zipser) and Dr. R. David Allard (Ann Marie), and nine grandchildren.

Ray was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He liked playing the guitar and the piano and taught his children to sing along. Ray was always interested in the world around him and how it worked. He was also interested in the outdoors and made sure his family learned to waterski, snow ski, camp, golf, and how to paddle a canoe.

Ray attended high school at St. Thomas Academy, and college at St. Thomas College (now the University of St. Thomas) and the University of Minnesota. He also had post-graduate degrees from Caltech and Harvard. He served on the board of St. Thomas Academy, which his sons also attended.

Ray had a long and successful career as a pioneer in the computer industry, including the Army Signal Corp, Control Data Corporation, Data Central Corporation, MCC, and Allard Electronics Supply.

Ray will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
