Lucy Blanchard

Lucy Long Parker Blanchard 98, of Ocala, Florida formerly of Andrews, North Carolina passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 in an Ocala, Florida care facility. She was a native of Cherokee County and worked for Sullivan Insurance for over 37 years until retiring in 1988. Lucy was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church. She moved to Ocala, Florida in 1995. 

She was the daughter of the late Homer W. and Laura Nichols Long and wife of the late Lewis Thomas Blanchard. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; Mary Long Love, Margaret Long Payne, and Lillian Long Love; and a brother Jack D. Long. 

Surviving are one step daughter, Terry Guertin and husband, Michael of Leedey, Oklahoma; three step sons, Lewis Thomas Blanchard Jr. and wife, Sandy of Bowling Green, Ohio, Dr. Bruce Blanchard and wife, Sherry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Paul Blanchard and wife, Suzanne of Duluth, Georgia; and one sister, Tommie Alice Long of Buford, Georgia along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Inurnment will be in Valleytown Cemetery. No services are planned per Lucy’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Lucy Long Parker Blanchard to Andrews First Baptist Church, P.O. 427 Andrews, North Carolina 28901. Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews in charge of arrangements.
