Charles Edwin Bradney
April 2nd, 1938 - October 6th, 2024
Charles Edwin Bradney was born on April 2, 1938, in Loveland, Colorado, to Marel and Reva Bradney. He passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, at Springs Ranch Memory Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Charles, or Chuck as he was affectionately known, dedicated much of his life to his family. He built his family home on his parents' farm in Berthoud, Colorado, creating lasting memories in a place that held a special place in his heart. His unwavering commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator at Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, for 28 years, retiring in 1995. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxana "Roxie" Bradney, whom he married in 1964 and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with. Together, they traveled extensively across the United States in their RV and visited various countries with a particular fondness for cruises, including an unforgettable around-the-world journey. A man of strong faith, Chuck was a former member for 40 years at the Berthoud Presbyterian Church, where he and Roxie enjoyed singing in the church choir. They also formed many friendships at Presbyterian churches while living in Yuma, Arizona, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. An avid sports fan, he spent many an autumn afternoon in his recliner, flipping channels between Denver Broncos games and NASCAR races. His love for woodworking was evident in the beautiful pieces he created, and he enjoyed working on cars, a hobby that brought him joy. He also loved riding his bike in his earlier days.
Chuck is survived and celebrated by his brother, James (Kathy) Bradney of Berthoud, Colorado, and his four children: Robert (Stacey) Bradney of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Suzanne (Jesse) Lopez of Mission, Texas; Lisa (Bob) Aldridge of Clinton, Missouri; and Charles (Tonya) Engel of Green Forest, Arkansas. He was also the proud Grandpa to 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marel and Reva (Graves) Bradney, and his loving wife, Roxana (Carter) Bradney.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the healthcare professionals and staff from Springs Ranch Memory Care Center and Bloom Hospice for their compassionate care in the last couple of months of his life. A special “thank you” to Lexi, whose kindness and dedication made a difference in Chuck’s final days.
Berthoud held a special place in his heart, and it will be there that he and Roxie will be laid to eternal rest together on November 2, 2024, at Green Lawn Cemetery, County Rd 1 & E State Hwy 56, Berthoud, Colorado, at 11:00 am. Following the memorial service, please join the family for lunch at Berthoud Presbyterian Church, 531 8th St, Berthoud, Colorado. Chuck will be remembered for his quiet, hardworking spirit, strong faith, and dedication to his family.
