Margaret "Peg" I Millwater
January 4th, 1936 - October 13th, 2024
Forever in our hearts
Margaret (Peg) I. Millwater, Wife, Mother, Sister, Nana and Gigi, passed away at age 88 at Golden Pond, Golden, Colorado on October 13th, 2024. Peg was born in New Jersey and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Millwater. They remained a loving and devoted couple for 64 years. Living in New Jersey, Torrance, California and Colorado, they settled in Colorado Springs, Co. after Robert retired. She was a great neighbor and friend to all that knew her, always willing to help in any way. Even when she was in memory care, she continued to want to help everyone. She was always sweet, kind and gentle lady.
She was very artistic and creative, painting many Colorado mountain scenes on canvas as well as ceramic Santa Claus's in great detail. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, stain glass and, I believe the most important, making a house a home and raising two kids. As her children, we grew up thinking we could do just about anything ourselves, we never called “the guy”. If you wanted a room painted you painted it yourself, if you wanted a wall knocked down, you knocked it down (which she did!), If something broke, we would always try to fix it and usually could (with the help of Dad). She instilled a can-do attitude in both of us and will be forever grateful that we had so many wonderful years with her here on earth.
Peg is survived by her sister Debbie Tonnesen, son Robert Millwater Jr., daughter Karen Millwater, grandchildren Dustin Brunetti and wife Iryna, Candice Metzler and husband Steve, Kirsten Jacobs, Taylor Millwater and wife Heather. Great grandchildren Rhylyn Metzler, Lylah Metzler and Stas Brunetti.
A memorial will be held on November 3rd at 1:00 at Golden Pond, 1270 N Ford Street, Golden, Co. 80403 in the Table Mountain Room.
