Lucy Eleanor Baca

Lucy Eleanor Baca (Romero), aged 81, passed away on October 23, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. Born on May 14, 1943, in La Junta, Colorado, Lucy was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life. 

Lucy dedicated many years to homemaking, nurturing her family with unwavering care and affection. Her professional journey included significant roles at the Department of Defense at Lowry Air Force Base and later at Walmart, where she continued to make a positive impact until her retirement. 

A devout churchgoer, Lucy frequented many churches, where she found great solace and community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with everyone she met.

Lucy was a person who cherished simple pleasures. She enjoyed walking in the park, attending church services, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family. These moments were the highlights of her days and brought her immense joy.

Lucy was the loving matriarch of a large and close-knit family. She is survived by her daughter Guadalupe Saiz, son Marcelino Baca Jr. (Alberta), and grandchildren Monique Flores (Fernando), Christina Saldaña, Aaron Baca, Andrew Garcia (Michelle), and Jeremy Baca. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Jayden Moscato, Madelyn Moscato, Andi Garcia, Christian Garcia, Jordynn Saldaña, Zachariah Garcia, Gabriella Garcia, and Fernando Flores Jr. Lucy was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Marcelino Baca, her parents Manuel and Liboria Romero, and her siblings Joe Romero, Mary Romero, Cora Diaz, Andrea Gallegos, Ursulla Bencomo, Eva Costello, and Manuel Romero.

Lucy's legacy of love, faith, and family devotion will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who knew her.
