It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen (Owens) Davidson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Ellen passed away peacefully after a 10 day battle following a stroke. Ellen was born on November 13th, 1956 in North Tarrytown, NY to Thomas James Owens and Susan Elizabeth (Sheridan) Owens.
Ellen moved to Melbourne, FL with her family in 1964, where they lived in Melbourne Beach. She graduated from Melbourne High School in 1974.
Ellen lived a very active and full life. She enjoyed tending to her garden, spending time with family, attending country music festivals, thrifting and slot machines. She loved flamingos and the Florida sunshine. She worked at Harris Corporation, John F. Turner Elementary School, and Florida Institute of Technology. She was an avid member of the American Legion Post 117 Auxiliary.
Ellen will be dearly missed by her husband of forty-four years, William Scott Davidson Sr., her children William Scott Davidson Jr. (Diana) of Palm Bay, FL, Kevin Owen Davidson (Hannah) of Palm Bay, FL, and her beloved grandson Tyler Scott Davidson of Virginia Beach, VA.
She will also be dearly missed by sisters Susan Griffin, Mary (Doug) Dilts, Kathy McKeown, Jane (Russell) Swanicke, Patricia Herlinger, Colleen (Jeffrey) Hall, brother Tim Owens, sister-in-law Agnes Owens, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ellen is preceded in death by her mother Susan, father Thomas, sister Beth Ann, and brother
Thomas J. Owens Jr.
A viewing will be held at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 950 Malabar Rd. SE Palm Bay, FL 32907 (next to 7 Brew Coffee) on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 from 1-3 PM. A service will immediately follow from 3-4 PM at the same location. Afterwards, there will be a celebration of life at American Legion Post 117 at 189 Veterans Dr. SE in Palm Bay, FL 32909 at the banquet hall from 4-8 PM for all those fortunate enough to have known Ellen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ellen's memory to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org).
