Dennis J. Kaufman of Venice, Florida, passed away on November 5, 2024 at the age of 67.  He was born on August 9, 1957 in Buffalo, New York and moved to Venice in 1968 from Alden, New York.  Dennis was a carpenter for 32 years, building inspector for Sarasota County for 20 years and Craine owner/operator for 10 years.  He liked wood working and could fix, build or make anything.  He always liked helping others and was the proud Uncle and # 1 Fan of Josh Kaufman who was the winner of the voice.  Dennis especially loved God and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Smith Kaufman of Venice; son, Daniel Kaufman of Venice; two brothers, Mark (Doris) Kaufman of North Port, Jim (Cathy) Kaufman of Nokomis and a sister, Darlene (Paul) Deao of Venice and a brother-in-law, Keith (Courtney) Smith of Janesville, Wisconsin.  Dennis also leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Kaufman and his mother, Joan Terreberry Walsh. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the First Church of God South Venice, 351 Orange Road in Venice with a reception to follow. Please wear colorful clothes.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (https://hopkinsallchildrens.org/giv/619082/#1/donation/checkout or to the Ronald McDonald House (rmhctampabay.org)  Please donate in honor of Dennis.
