In Loving Memory
Esther Marilyn Peterson, age 88, formerly of Mahtowa, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton, Minnesota, surrounded by her family. Esther was born on February 25, 1936 to Gust and Signe (Heino) Granrose. She met the love of her life, Rodney (Rod), at Barnum High School. They were married on February 13, 1954 until Rod’s passing in August, 2021. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending countless sporting events, recitals, school concerts, church and school plays, and birthdays. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church her whole married life, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Womens’ Group, and participated in church events.
Esther is survived by her children, Jeff (Maxine) Peterson; Jayne (Steve) Clark; Jon (DeAnn) Peterson; Jason (Jeni) Peterson; sister Karen Schiffman; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rod; parents, Gust and Signe Granrose; brother, Edwin (Hiroko) Granrose; sister, Irene (Delmer) Peterson; and son-in-law, Steve Clark.
Visitation is from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Monday, November 18 followed by the Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa with Pastor Jim Raisanen officiating. Lunch to follow. Esther will be laid to rest at Mt. Salem Cemetery at a later date.

We would also like to thank the Staff at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minnesota for the exceptional, loving care they provided until her passing.
