Lillian Jane Bressman
November 20th, 1941 - October 7th, 2024
Lillian Jane Bressman, 82, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Winter Haven, Florida surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on November 20, 1941, in Charleston, West Virginia, to parents, Ralph Laton and Gladys Quigley. Lillian, Janie as she was affectionately known as, moved to Florida in 1993 and spent the rest of her life, 32 years, living with her daughter in Winter Haven. She was a strong independent woman who held fast to her beliefs, gave of herself unconditionally and unselfishly without asking anything in return. She was a wonderful mother who devoted herself to her children and grandchildren, supporting them without fail through their many highs & difficult times in their lives. Her dedication, compassion, and love for them was as she would say, “ her life’s purpose.” Janie shared a special bond with her best friend and confidant, Lynne Windham Lundeen, whom she met while working as a bookkeeper for Learning Resource Center in Lakeland Florida, and who's friendship brought her great comfort and joy. In her free time, she liked to play solitaire, work puzzles, and spend quality time with her grandchildren. Whether it was taking them out to eat, to the movies, or a road trip to one of the theme parks in the area she was always on the move ready to go. Birthdays and Christmas were her favorite time of the year. She loved to shop and shower them with many gifts, always going above and beyond spoiling them every chance she could get. Janie is survived by her son, Matthew Bressman, with his children, Korey Bressman and Madison Bressman. Her daughter, Susan Harper, with her children, Jordan Harper, Noah Harper, and Ethan Harper, her grandchildren, Jayce Welch, Skylar Confere, and Alice Confere. Janie had a large & loving family with brothers, Ralph Laton and Paul Laton. Sisters, Barbara Holder, Stephanie Hildebrandt Logan, Carol Thaxton, Anita Hancock, and Marsha Manker. She was proceeded in death by her parents and sisters, Angela Little and Ada Harper. Her memory will be cherished by all those who knew her, and her legacy of love, strength, and kindness and the impact she made upon us will live in the hearts of her family and friends well beyond her lifetime. A Celebration of Life to be determined in Winter Haven, Florida. For donations, please contact Lynne Windham Lundeen, at 863-660-2695.
