Howard Brooks Drummond, 79, of Portland, Oregon died on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

 

Howard was born October 16, 1945, in Logan, Utah. He graduated from MCHS in Missoula, MT; attended Whitman College; University of Washington, BS; University of Montana, MS; and OHSU. He married Lindsay in 1970 in Missoula, MT. After five years in cancer research, he transferred into a career of hospital administration. 

 

Howard’s adventurous spirit was evident in his love for hiking, mountain climbing, kayaking, biking, Kung Fu, and working on house projects. He spent his quiet time reading and painting. Known for his warmth and sense of humor, Howard cherished spending time with his family and friends. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lindsay (Brown); two children, son Jeffrey Drummond and daughter Sarah Drummond; two grandchildren, Emiko Hays (22) and Mia Hays (19); sisters, Dawn Eckert and Stephanie Lambert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Barta (Henderson) Drummond, and older brother Keith Drummond. A gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial, 6705 SE 14th Ave, Portland, OR.
