Karen Inez Windsor
September 13th, 1945 - November 21st, 2024
Karen Inez Windsor, 79, of Colorado Springs , Colorado, passed away peacefully November 21, 2024, just eight short months after her husband Bill.
She was born in September of 1945 to Philip and Florence Donnelly in Texas. Her father, Philip, was a Navy submariner in WWII, and her mother, Florence, was an administrative assistant. Karen was a cosmetologist out of high school, but married shortly afterward to Bill Windsor, and enjoyed 60 years of happiness together. During this time, she was a housewife and mother to three children. While she did not run businesses, invent miraculous things, or build towering structures, she did put all of her effort and love into being a wonderful mother and wife. And for that, her children thank her and see her as more magnificent than any historical figure. She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. All of the successes and accomplishments her progeny have or will achieve are largely thanks to her raising them, teaching them, loving them, disciplining them, and protecting them. Karen was a kind and thoughtful woman, lacking a single hateful bone in her body nor thought in her mind. She was funny, she was kind, and she was special in more ways that her family can count. She will be greatly missed by us all.
When her husband of 60 years passed away last Spring, Karen simply could not continue on, and raced to join his side in heaven where they shall look down upon us with smiles.
In lieu of flowers, the family politely asks for memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, www.alzfdn.org to help combat this horrible disease that afflicted her and her husband both, in the final years of thier lives.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Gardens of ViewPointe who so lovingly cared for Karen through the last several years of her Alzheimer's condition.
