Patricia ‘Poppy’ M. McDonald, 86, of Venice, Florida passed away at her home on Dec. 4th, 2024.

 

Poppy was born on January 31st, 1938 in Utica, NY., daughter of Dr. Harold F. and Anne (Senecal) McDonald. She graduated from Cortland State University in 1960, taught school in Bay Shore, Long Island NY and received her Master’s Degree. Poppy was a great athlete and a faithful Mets fan. As an avid golfer and biker, she toured Europe after retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family, and they enjoyed spending time with Aunt Poppy. 

 

Poppy is survived by many friends and family. This includes one sister, Marianne DeGraaf of Santa Fe, NM and one brother, David McDonald and his wife, Regina of Hamilton, NY., and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Harold and Anne McDonald and three brothers, Gerald McDonald, Edward McDonald and James McDonald.
