Elizabeth Mae Parson was born on May 19, 1935, in Cairo, Georgia, to Willie Mae Tucker and Alec Bentley, Sr. Growing up in a close-knit family as the middle child, Elizabeth was surrounded by the love of her older sister, Louise, and her younger brother, Alec Jr. Her early years were filled with joy and laughter, and her close-knit family remained an anchor throughout her life.

At a young age, Elizabeth met her friend Herbert Parson, who would later become the love of her life. The story of their first meeting became a cherished part of their shared history. Herbert looked at Elizabeth and told her mother Willie Mae, "I’m going to marry that girl." True to his word, years later, Herbert kept that promise, and they married in 1952. Their story, built on a foundation of deep friendship and love, spanned more than five decades. Herbert’s Army service took their family to exciting places like Orléans, France, and Germany, before they eventually made their home in Seaside, California. Together, they raised four children: Teresa Brown, Debra Cason, Herbert Parson Jr., and their unexpected blessing, Reginald “Reggie” Parson.

Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked in the maternity ward at Community Hospital in Monterey and later became a beloved neighborhood figure during her 30+ years at Food Corner Market in Seaside affectionately referred to as “Miss Liz.” Known for her kindness, she often bought groceries for those in need, prayed with others, and offered support to anyone seeking comfort.

Elizabeth was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church since the early 1980s. She often attended church with her best friend, Archie "Callie" Gibson, where her faith was nurtured and strengthened through the support of her friend and fellow believers.

After retiring in the early 2010s, Elizabeth focused on her family, helping raise her grandchildren Sheri “Niki” Cason- Duarte, Shaniece Cason, Samantha Brown, and Mackenzie “Mac” Brown, and her great-granddaughter Leah Cason- Soller, who brought her immense joy.

Elizabeth, a woman of unwavering love, faith, and devotion, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the age of 89. Elizabeth’s love, faith, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Elizabeth leaves behind her daughter, sons, grand-daughters, grand-son, great grand-daughter, son in-laws, and daughter in-laws, along with a host of nieces and nephews in Georgia, New Jersey, and Florida.

She is now reunited with her beloved Herbert, daughter Teresa, sister Louise Palmer, brother Alec Bentley, and parents.
