Helen Claire Havener La Chase, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Louis LaChase. Born September 24, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Robert Maurice Havener and Marion Jesse Marquart Havener. She retired from Quick and Reilly Brokerage House in New York City and was a member of Timberlake Church for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and telling stories of growing up in Coney Island with her five sisters and brother. She also enjoyed reading and loved to shop! Helen had a very close relationship with her nieces and nephews, keeping up with all of their birthdays and other important milestones. She is survived by two sisters, Ethel Alamo of Port Richey, FL and Peggy Malfi (Frank) of Washington Crossing, PA; one brother Robert Havener (Roni) of Port St. Lucie, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Triplett and Jeanette Soklaski. Memorial contributions may be made to Timberlake Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. on Sunday at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 A. M. at Timberlake Church followed by a reception and luncheon at the church. Entombment will be at 2:00 P.M. in Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
