Roy Church Eastin

Roy Church Eastin, 98, passed away on November 9, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on September 2, 1926 to Semion Leonard Eastin and Mollie Church in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Roy served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He attended the prestigious Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for 2-1/2 years and later finished his Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Murray State University in Kentucky. Roy was an accomplished musician on both clarinet and saxophone playing with many renowned bands and orchestras in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida but his true love was conducting and directing bands. He later received his Masters Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He was a high school band director in Illinois for 10 years. He served as a high school principal for 10 years and he served as a system analyst for the Brevard County Florida School Board for 10 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Colorado Springs. He was a volunteer for the Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic in Colorado Springs for several years.
Roy is survived by his son, Brad Eastin and his wife Kristie, his grandson Kevin and his wife Theresa, and one great grandson, Carter Eastin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jane Terry Kelley Eastin, sister Alberta Harrod Bell, brother Semion Leonard Eastin Jr. and grandson, Brian Kelley Eastin.
