Christian Walter Stubner
May 6th, 1970 - December 5th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christian W. Stubner. He was a devoted, loving, and supportive father, partner, son, brother, friend, and peer. Chris passed on the 05th of December, 2024 at the age of 54 after a day surrounded by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Liquid Mechanics, 297 US-287 #100 Lafayette, CO 80026 on 25th of January 2025 at 5:00 pm. As we gather to celebrate Chris's life, let us remember his quick wit, curiosity, and unwavering loyalty, which continue to inspire us. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed, yet his legacy of love, kindness, and patience remains forever in our hearts.
Chris was born 06th of May, 1970 in Shelton, Connecticut. He attended Shelton High School where his love for cars started with rebuilding his ‘71 Ford Maverick. Chris also found music in high school when his brother gave him his first record. He continued to find, listen, and follow artists of all genres. Like his father Charles, Chris became a proud Penn State Nittany Lion and attended the Altoona and State College campuses. Here he excelled in engineering and spent countless hours in the library. In fact he was bestowed a golden library key for his use of the library. Chris received a BS of Electrical Engineering in 1992.
Chris started his career in Connecticut with US Filter by automating and implementing water systems for Pharmaceutical companies. This work introduced him to biologics manufacturing in Colorado. He identified with a passion to aid in the creation of life saving medications for patients in need. He took the leap and moved to Colorado joining Amgen in 2001. At Amgen he became a leader in manufacturing automation and implemented multiple automation platforms in the Boulder Colorado area. Along the way he influenced many peers. He ended his career as Director of Automation at Agilent Technologies in Frederick and Boulder Colorado.
Chris made a life in Colorado filled with joy and love. He spent time with his sons, partner, friends, and family hiking, cooking, exploring new activities or events local and far, planning and going on wonderful vacations with Michelle and his sons, camping, and enjoying music concerts. He made everyday a learning opportunity by reading and researching many topics and he loved sharing his knowledge with others in the office and at home. He always had a story for every occasion and made us laugh out loud. He loved animals and provided a safe and caring home for his and Michelle’s pets. Dixie, his beloved dog, was a constant companion on hikes and trips to the hardware store.
He is survived by his children, sons Matthew J. Stubner and Nathan C. Stubner, partner Michelle Sinsel, mother Helga Stubner, brothers Erik (Jocelyn Johnson Ibsen) Schoepplenberg, Peter (Christie McNeill) Stubner, Alex (Margaret Reuter Stubner) Stubner and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Stubner.
There is never enough time with the people we love. As the many people who love Chris learn to live in a world without him in it, we find some relief from our sadness by celebrating Chris’s light, laughter, kindness, and love. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charities that are aligned with Chris’s passions.
