In Loving Memory of Michael Wayne Reece, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 22, 2024 and will be dearly missed.
Michael Wayne Reece was born on May 10, 1954, in St. Michael’s, Barbados, to Alphonzo (Vaughn) Reece and Phyllis Reece. His early education was shaped by the English Commonwealth School System in Barbados, where he lived under the loving care of his godmother, Mrs. Agatha Franklin.
Michael later reunited with his parents in Nassau, Bahamas, where he completed his education and began laying the foundation for a life defined by hard work, resilience, and dedication to family.
After graduation, Michael relocated to New York City, joining his older brother and other family members. In 1991, he made the pivotal decision to move to Ocala, Florida, where he joined his mother, sister, and her family, continuing his legacy of love and support.
Michael’s education and diverse skill set enabled him to excel in numerous fields, including mechanics, production work, counseling, and home improvement, among others. His resourcefulness and determination made him a man of many talents, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Michael was passionate for soccer, cricket, golf and his love of sport. He had a special gift for bringing joy and putting smiles on the faces of those around him. His unwavering faith in God guided his actions and inspired all who knew him.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved spouse, Sadie Reece.
He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, including:
His son, Brandon Reece (Jade Reece), Brother Jeffery Brewster (Margret Brewster), Brother Algernon Reece (Anita Reece, deceased), Sister Peggy Reece-Munnings (Donald Munnings), Sister Sherrell Reece-Distant (Norman Distant, deceased), Grandson Cairo Reece. Left to celebrate his life his beloved partner 8 plus years Anthea, “Plus Dad” to 3 daughters.
Michael is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, and family members spanning the globe. His love, wisdom, and generous spirit touched countless lives, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
The Family is going to have a celebration of Life service for Michael on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00am at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL all are welcome to attend and celebrate Michael’s life. Friends may view the services from Tribucast with the link. https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/f24121757259003
