Paul R. Basso, 87 years old, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024.

 

Paul was born on August 11, 1937, to the late Paul Basso Jr. and Stella Basso (Kulagoski). He grew up in Wilkes-Barre, graduated from GAR High School, and served in the US Army. He lived in Hunlock Creek and worked for many years as a printer for the Sunday Independent. He moved to Colorado in 1994 after the newspaper closed, where he owned and operated Bass Custom Golf shop. 

 

Paul enjoyed playing golf at the Wyoming Valley Country Club with his sons and was a local high school football and basketball referee and baseball umpire.

 

Paul was predeceased by his wife Joan Basso (Ferry), son James Basso, and his sister, Joan Tucker. He is survived by his son Judge Paul D. Basso, his wife Pam, sister-in-law Ann Ragsdale (Ferry) and her husband Charles, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Paul will be interned at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Colorado.
