Rosa Linda (Witt) Williamson of Lynchburg passed away at Lynchburg General Hospital December 23rd 2024. She was born October 5th 1942 to the late Edward Allan & Temperance (Trevey) Witt in Lynchburg. She graduated from E. C. Glass High School in 1961 and then enrolled at Phillips Business College. Three days after graduating form Phillips Business she began her first job for the City of Lynchburg Office of Billings & Collections in City Hall. She would work in that office for next 41 years, retiring in 2003. In 1967 Rosa married Elbert LeRoy Williamson. She would spend the next 55 years of her life with LeRoy until his passing in 2023. Rosa was very active in her Church, the former Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess and served several committees. She was also active in the Hill City community. She was the Treasurer for the Citizens For A Clean Lynchburg and involved with Meals on Wheels. Spending time with family and friends was most important in her life. She loved family get togethers and always looked forward to her monthly ladies luncheons. She was loved by many and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her brother William Edward “Billy” Witt and his wife Mary Susan (Carter) Witt. She is survived by her children Robyn Witt Williamson and David Allan Williamson. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Brenda Coleman (Ronnie), Barbara Falwell (Terry) and Susan Phelps along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held January 4th 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Diuguid Funeral Home on Timberlake Road. The service will be presided over by Rosa’s nephew, Chris Kesler, Senior Pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Phenix, Va. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the time of service.
