Cynthia Sharon Miller
May 31st, 1946 - December 27th, 2024
Cynthia Nester Miller of Lynchburg peacefully passed on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 78. Born May 31, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Tommie Allen Nester and Eula Moon Nester of Altavista. A graduate of William Campbell High School, she forged a successful career culminating as the manager for over 30 years at Matthew’s Hallmark in River Ridge Mall until her retirement. Before Hallmark, she was an owner/operator of several retail stores in Lynchburg and Campbell County including The Party Shoppe, once located in Pittman Plaza. Although an accomplished career woman, she much preferred her roles as loving wife, Mom and Nana- always the joyful cheerleader, she constantly showered her family with unsurpassed love and nurturing support.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her one-true love, Frederick (Fred) L. Miller whom she was married to for 54 wonderful years, her grandson Tyler Harvey, and brothers: Philip Barry Nester and William C. Nester (Jean).
She is survived by two Daughters: Sharon Harvey (Gary) and Andrea Miller, a granddaughter- Victoria (Tori) Harvey, a sister-in-law- Betty Nester, brother-in-law- Glenn Miller (Linda), granddog Duke, a host of nieces and nephews, and many family and friends.
The family expresses much appreciation to our friends at The Elms of Lynchburg and Gentle Shepherd Hospice who showed love and care to Mom.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 3,2025, at 1:00 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel officiated by Pastor Christopher Carter of Fairview Christian Church.
