Cynthia Kay (Burke) Winn, age 73, was lovingly welcomed into the arms of her Savior on December 17, 2024. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully in Glendale, Arizona. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Cindy was born on October 11, 1951, in Miles City, Custer, Montana, to Noel Clinton Burke and Marjorie (Banks) Burke. A self-proclaimed tomboy, she cherished playing alongside her older brother Noel. Cindy's childhood was marked by frequent moves, but her adventurous spirit and sense of humor carried her through each change.
While at BYU Provo, Cindy met the love of her life, David Charles Winn. The two were married on May 25, 1973, in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Cindy devoted the next two decades to raising her three beloved children while also caring for her aging parents. Her selflessness and generosity defined her; she gave freely of her time, resources, and warm humor. Cindy’s nurturing nature extended beyond her family and friends, as she made a profound impact in the community through her work in foster care.
A woman of deep faith, Cindy served as a missionary in employment services for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She dedicated herself to her Savior and family and spent her later years immersed in family history and missionary work.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Noel Clinton Burke and Marjorie (Banks) Burke, her brother, Noel Rufus Burke, and sister-in-law, Jeanette (Giles) Burke. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Charles Winn; her children, Ryan (Anna), Stephen (Katie), and Kelley (Mark); and her ten cherished grandchildren: Alexis, Tommy, Amy, Michael, Burke, Amelia, Henry, Eleanor, Logan, and Emma.
Cindy's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and served. In honor of her wishes, no funeral services will be held. Instead, the family invites you to share your memories and photos of Cindy by emailing them to [email protected]. These memories will be preserved for future generations to treasure.
Cindy will be remembered for her love, laughter, and enduring faith—a light in the lives of all who knew her.
