Joe Allen Cashion was born on July 21, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and passed away on December 25, 2024 at his home in Englewood at the age of 81. He was a marine mechanic then was a correction officer with the State of Florida Dept. of Corrections until he retired in October of 2024.  Joe moved to Florida with his family in the late 1940’s and attended schools in Sarasota County. Anyone that knew Joe was aware of his love of the outdoors. Joe loved boating, fishing, skiing, camping, motorcycles and his favorite place to be was in Big Cypress Swamp.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce; his son, David Rigby of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Jarrod, Logan and Jillian all of Jacksonville.  Joe also leaves behind three nephews, Kevin, Mark and Bret Cashion of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Warren; father, Joe A. Cashion and his brothers, Harvey and David Cashion.

There is no service planned and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice.
