Frank "Doug" Burwell
December 13th, 1941 - December 19th, 2024
Frank (Doug) Burwell, 83, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away at home on December 19, after a brief illness.
Doug was born on December 13, 1941, in Ransom, Kansas, to Frank and Velma Burwell. He was raised in Beeler and Arnold, Kansas. He graduated from Arnold High School. He was drafted into the Army in 1960.
Upon his discharge, he remained in Kansas. Married and was a sales representative for a sporting goods company. He transferred to Colorado, and after a time, went to work for Portland cement. They soon moved to California. In 1995 he moved back to Colorado. In 1996, he met Dorothy and they were married in 1997.
He continued to work in the sporting goods industry until his retirement. Over the years his hobbies included wood carving, metal detecting, coin collecting, reading, hiking and his favorite nature and wildlife photography.
He was a recent member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Colorado Bowhunters Association.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy. Daughters Kristi Caddell (Tracy); Colleen Weiman (Bradley); and grandchildren Hailey (Ryley); Justin (Lexi); and Meredith. Also, several grandpets.
