James L. Imhoff
December 12th, 1953 - December 28th, 2024
James Lawrence Imhoff, 71 of Gilbert, AZ passed away peacefully on Saturday December 28, 2024, surrounded by family after a courageous 5 ½ year battle with cancer. Jim was born on December 12, 1953, to Rita and Lawrence Imhoff in La Crosse, WI. Jim grew up in New Albin, Iowa and attended St. George High School in Lansing, Iowa. Jim enrolled in the Air Force at the age of 17 and served during the Vietnam War.
On May 10, 1975, Jim married Kim Benson at St. Josephs Catholic Church in New Albin. They were blessed with three children, Jennifer, Jason and Lucas. Due to Jim’s job with the airlines, the family moved frequently and lived in several states including Oregon, Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Jim retired from United Airlines after working for over 30 years in the industry.
Jim enjoyed traveling, fishing, baseball, and the Green Bay Packers. Jim’s greatest joy was being a grandpa, and he was so proud of all his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are, his wife Kim Imhoff, daughter Jennifer Pray (Luke), sons Jason Imhoff and Lucas Imhoff (Amy), daughter-in-law Deena Caito. Grandsons Anthony Imhoff and Konner Imhoff. Granddaughters Katlyn Pray, Isabella Pray, Olivia Pray and Lylah Imhoff. Brothers Don Imhoff (Dorene), Jake Imhoff (Diane), Tom Imhoff (Debbie). Sisters Angela Taylor (Steve), Mary Maust (Scott), Connie Connolly (Jim) and Michele Imhoff, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother Kenneth and several aunts and Uncles.
A memorial service will take place at Legacy Funeral Home – Chandler
A celebration of life will be held in New Albin, Iowa at a later date.
