Marie "Cindy" Annette Luna
June 8th, 1964 - December 31st, 2024
Sadly, our beloved Marie Annette Luna, also known as “Cindy” or “Annette,” passed away on December 31, 2024. After many years of battling health complications, her heart could no longer hold on, and she has gone to be with the Lord.
Marie was born on June 8, 1964, to Ray and Rose Padilla in Alamosa, Colorado. She graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs in 1982 and began her career as a pastry chef at the Radisson Hotel in Denver, Colorado. In 1986, she met Santiago, and they were wed, going on to create a loving family together.
In 1988, Marie moved to Arizona in search of new opportunities. She settled in the Phoenix Valley, where she built a life filled with lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community. Marie worked as a preschool teacher and homemaker and was also an active volunteer at the local senior center in Mesa.
Marie enjoyed watching novelas (Spanish soap operas) and ghost adventures. She was creative and loved crocheting dresses, blankets, and doll outfits. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she cherished attending church, participating in Bible studies, and reading scripture. She had a deep appreciation for angels, crosses, and depictions of Jesus. Marie also loved traveling back to Colorado to visit her family. She was known for her warm and welcoming heart, always extending kindness to children, friends, and new acquaintances.
Marie is survived by her three children: Santiago A. Luna, Alejandro J. Luna, and Julia M. Luna. She also leaves behind her siblings: Arthur Padilla, Lee Padilla, Steve (Susie) Padilla, Rebecca (the late Moe Chavez) Chavez, Lori (the late Gilbert Pacheco) Pacheco, and Myra Padilla, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Rose Padilla; her brothers, Lawrence Padilla and James Padilla; her sisters, Rosemary “Hazel” Marquez and Roberta Ramirez; and her firstborn, Jimmy Lee Bustamante.
