Joanne “JoJo” Mary Miller

Joanne was born on May 28th, 1968 to Kenneth and Lorraine Miller in St. Paul, MN. Joanne grew up the 8th child out of 9. The last 3 kids were inseparable and commonly called “Genejopam”. She was always close to her family. She grew up with many of her nieces and nephews. She became an Aunt for the first time at the age of 7 and her younger sister was only 4. She loved attending their sports and school activities, especially the plays. They enjoyed collecting beanie babies and playing card games; Uno, phase 10, and Skip O were favorites.

The family spent many weeks camping at Mission Beach in Merrifield. She also enjoyed traveling. Disney was her favorite spot. Along the way, they love to stop at the casinos and play the slots.

She attended St. Marks Grade School, Class of 1982, then St. Agnes High School, Class of 1986. She was a member of the Campfire girls, helping in many community events like rummage sales and arts and craft shows. She helped out at Camp Kiwanis the summer before her senior year.

After High school she attended St. Paul Technical College to become a HUC, Health Care Unit Coordinator. Her first (and only) car was a Red Grand Am with a license plate “JoJo M”. She worked for Regions Hospital in the orthopedics department and later in the Maternity Ward. Where she found her passion there.

When she was diagnosed with MS, It was heartbreaking that she had to give up driving and working. Fortunately, she had her family and friends. Our gratitude to her lifelong family friends the “Hoye Clan” for their involvement in her life (and ours).

She started going to the MS Achievement Center where she met many new friends. She enjoyed ceramics where she made piggy banks for her nieces and nephews. She always looked forward to the summer when she and her sister would go to the MS Summer Camp.

Thank You to the MS Achievement day program staff and all who attended.

Throughout Jo’s life she had many trials and tribulations. Through them all she kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face. JoJo will be deeply missed. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Thank you to Chaplin Lisa Simonsen and Father J.P. Erickson for their services.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Miller; Sister, Patricia Larson; Brother, Gregory Miller.

She is survived by her Siblings, Pamela Miller, Eugene Miller, Gayle(Paul) Schanno, Linda Rauschendorfer, Diana(Gary) Yochum and Steven(Carol) Miller.
