Shirley Maberry Pelfrey, 87, of Cape Carteret, NC and formerly Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Born March 31. 1937, in Galax. VA, she was a daughter of the late Garland Ambrose Maberry and Ethel Harris Maberry. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Howard Long and one grandson, Jimmy Dustin Browning.
Shirley was a registered nurse and retired from Lynchburg General Hospital where she worked in the intensive care unit and lastly in the emergency department for many years.
She was member of The Church of God-Leesville Road in Lynchburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanie Smith (Gary) and Donna Morgan; five grandchildren, James Derrick Browning, Angela Gail Wood (Randy), Nichole Marie Long (Silder Lopez), Christen Dawn Hunter (Micah), Jessica Ashley Kalt (Chris) thirteen great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2025, from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1:30PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
