Ruth Evelyn Dwiggins
November 30th, 1932 - January 24th, 2025
Ruth Evelyn Dwiggins age 92, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, left to be with her heavenly father on January 24, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1932, in Newark, Ohio and grew up with her beloved parents John Weekly and Ivory Weekly (Leslie) and older sister, Lulu Grace. She graduated from Newark High School in 1951 and followed her passion for helping others by pursuing a career in nursing. She graduated from White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 where she would later serve as head nurse. She spent many years serving her community at the local hospital before retiring from Licking Memorial Hospital and moving on to enjoy her retirement in Chandler, Arizona.
In 1958, Ruth married Marion “Bill” Dwiggins, the love of her life, and together they built a beautiful home, lovingly renovated by Bill. Ruth was a proud Ohio girl through and through, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. She was an introvert who found joy in reading Harlequin romance novels, supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, and immersing herself in some of her favorite TV shows like Star Trek and Blue Bloods. Ruth also loved traveling, particularly to Canada and Alaska, where she created lasting memories with her family.
Ruth was deeply committed to her faith and her church community, being an active member of Christian Apostolic in Newark, OH, and LifeChurch in Gilbert, AZ. Her dedication to her faith and the fellowship she shared with others brought great comfort and meaning to her life.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was lovingly named, "Granny" by the first grandchild, Miquela and thoroughly enjoyed her long awaited great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Flint Dwiggins and his wife Bong Dwiggins; her daughter, Tonya Dwiggins Tevis and her children, Miquela Tevis, Laken Tevis Chappel (husband Bryant Chappel), and their children Anniston and Foster; and Cambria LaCasse (husband Kyle LaCasse) and their son Luca LaCasse.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ivory Weekly, and her older sister, Lulu Grace and her husband, Bill. Ruth’s legacy of love, faith, and service to others will be cherished by all who knew her.
