Samuel Munoz
July 26th, 1961 - January 20th, 2025
Sam was born to Samuel Munoz Sr. and Martha Aguirre Munoz on July 26, 1961. Being the eldest of 5, Sam took on the responsibility of helping his mom to care for his siblings. He was a big brother that they all looked up to. He and his brother Moises took on paper routes to help support the family when they were still kids. His work ethic began there and continued throughout his career. Sam worked hard all his life and believed that one should earn your way through life. He felt that each day you woke up was a blessing. He worked at Sears Auto Centers, Big O Tires & Auto, Paris Tires and Firestone as well. He accumulated 36 years of Automotive Service.
When he met his wife Vicky who had a readymade family, he knew that these children were to be his children. Together they worked, played, vacationed, and spent time together and grew their little family with love, patience and guidance. Sam was a devout family man who believed that God would help him in taking care of all his family members. He cared about each and every one of them. When he became a grandfather, he stood up to love and enjoy little ones too!
Sam played and enjoyed baseball, football and roller skating when he was younger. When he and Vicky married, he still enjoyed working. He enjoyed his kids and family and hosting BBQs, but every now and then he enjoyed “going up the hill” just for the ride and a meal. He enthusiastically loved football. He was an avid Bronco Fan! He enjoyed traveling and he and Vicky packed up the kids and went on vacation as often as they could.
Sam enjoyed people and people enjoyed Sam. He excelled in love, life, compassion. Sam was well known for being personable, helpful, and treating everyone well. He didn’t ever seem to say no. If ever you asked him for something or needed him, he would be there. He was honest to a fault and served as a mentor to both the young and old. His attitude was always one of gratitude and love. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He could make you feel special, make you laugh out loud, empathize with you, be compassionate and respectful all while just having a cup of coffee. He, indeed, was one of a kind.
Sam survived 3 car accidents and a motorcycle accident. Some of these previous injuries may have contributed to his most recent surgeries. He dealt with and suffered from the complications of diabetes and the hardships with hope, faith and steadfast courage. He then survived cancer with the blessing of his brother Moises who gifted him bone marrow. Sam was born under the Sun sign of Leo and was as strong as a Lion.
Sam’s road in life became difficult having health issues that challenged him daily, but he faced them head on and with such grace. He still tried to smile and always asked others how they were doing even as he lay in a hospital bed. His courage and example of faith and love touched many lives in his short stay on earth. Sam will be missed by so many who he loved and who loved him. God Bless you Sam. Rest in Peace and know that you will live on in our hearts forever and ever.
