November 6th, 1959 - January 7th, 2023
Mark William Clawson, 63, of Portland, Oregon, died peacefully at home of natural causes January 7, 2023. Mark graduated from Wilson High School and studied photography and fine arts at the Oregon Schools of Arts and Crafts. Over the years he worked as a truffle-maker, sign production artist, delivery driver, janitor, and film lab technician. Photography was his life-long passion. His parents, Annamae and Bill, and his brother, Joel, died before him. He is survived by his sister, Janice, one niece and two nephews. No services will be held. Here’s to Mark for making his own singular way in the world, and here’s to Mark’s parents and the circle of family and friends who supported him throughout his life. Hold him in your thoughts with love. May he rest in peace.

At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks....
