Lewis "Buddy" C. Sasser
July 28th, 1944 - February 10th, 2025
In Loving Memory of Lewis Clinton Sasser, Jr.
Lewis Clinton Sasser, Jr., better known as Buddy, departed from this world peacefully at his home on Lake Hatchineha on February 10, 2025 at the youthful age of 80 yrs old. He came into this world on July 28, 1944 to his proud parents, Lewis Clinton Sasser, Sr. and June “JuneBug” Sasser of Haines City, FL, where he became a lifelong resident. As a veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Sasser served his country proudly. He was also a member of the Masons, Haines City Lodge 219 F. & A.M., the Haines City Moose Lodge #2083, the American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven, Fl, and long-standing member of the Lake Hatchineha Airboat Club. Buddy was a natural athlete, outdoorsman, foodie, & fountain of knowledge with a gleaming flair for fun. He was a certified diver, excellent marksman, & an adventurous student of life. One of his favorite stories to share was trekking to Sturgis, SD aboard his prized Harley. His moral compass was unmatched. Buddy was the shoulder everyone leaned on and the hand always ready to help. Of his many acquired trades, Buddy was best known as a Master Electrician and, for a period, owned his own electrical business. Later, he took a position as an in-house electrician for the Polk County School Board, from where he retired in 2021. Mr. Sasser is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Sasser, Sr., stepmother, Lyndall Sasser, mother, June Brown, stepfather, Charles “Charlie” Brown, and his sister, Mary “Betty” Williams. He is survived by his two sons, Clinton Lee Sasser, Sr. (Alexis Tucker) and Christopher Lyle Sasser (Karmen), former wife & mother of his children, Linda Cain Sasser, brother, Harlow (Bobo) Sasser (Nancy), sister Susan Bruton (Fred), his grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, Lena and Clinton Sasser, Jr., many more family members and a myriad of friends. Memorials can be made in Buddy’s name to Shriner’s Hospital: https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/
Due to unforeseen circumstances Buddy's service has been postponed until further notice.
