Webster Franklin Harper
February 20, 1942 – February 5, 2025
Webster Franklin Harper, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, just shy of his 82nd birthday. Born in Salisbury, Maryland, Webster lived a life full of adventure, kindness, and generosity.
In the 1960s, he proudly served his country as a Communications Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed at a LORAN facility in San Salvador, after training in Venice, Florida. It was in Venice that he found his true home, purchasing a house in Nokomis in 1970 and becoming a lifelong resident of the area.
For over 30 years, Webster ran a successful upholstery business in Venice, specializing in automotive and boat upholstery, earning the respect and friendship of many in the community. He was known not only for his craftsmanship but for his warm heart and unwavering generosity.
A man who loved the sea, Webster was an avid boater and fisherman, always happiest when close to the Gulf waters. He cherished time spent on the water, sharing stories, casting lines, and enjoying the beauty of the coast. He also harbored a passion for music and aspired to master the harmonica.
Above all, Webster was a devoted family man. He is survived by his two sons, Scott and Daniel Harper, his brother Bob Harper, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His presence, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
