Peggy Lucille Ham
March 17th, 1948 - February 23rd, 2025
Peggy Lucille Ham, age seventy-six, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends on February 23,2025. She was born on March 17, 1948 in Wabbaseka, AR to Albert and Mildred Goodnight. She married the love of her life, William T. Ham, on September 29, 1973.
Peggy was a 1966 graduate of Dollarway High School in Pine Bluff, AR. She worked for Reinhard Brothers Company in Minneapolis, MN as an executive secretary for the President and Vice President. She also loved serving her community. Peggy was very active in raising money with the women of First Congregational Church of Greenville, MI. She loved to dance and helped to raise money for the Greenville Hospital by dancing in the annual Charity Ball.
Peggy is survived by her husband, William T. Ham, her two children Allyson Ham (Matt Fazzi) of Highlands Ranch, CO and William A. Ham (Amy Kestner-Ham) of Norton Shores, MI and two grandchildren, Silas T. Ham (age 9) of Grand Rapids, MI and Alex J. Ham (age 17) of Saranac MI.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Wayne Goodnight and Penny Clement.
Peggy was a loving and adventurous soul. She was an amazing cook and made the very best caramel sauce and ice cream cake. She also loved to volunteer in reading programs at her children’s schools. She cherished her family and her friendships. She adored being a grandmother.
Later in life Peggy enjoyed reading, daily chats with her daughter (Allyson), and traveling to far-away places with her husband and dear friends. She loved boating and spending time shopping with her best friends, Polly, Deb, and Julie. She was a pro at finding the best deals.
She will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and grateful mother, wife of 51 years, and friend.
Peggy’s family sends their heartfelt thanks to friends in Florida, Michigan, and many other communities for their support, caring, prayers, love, and most importantly their friendship.
A memorial gathering will be at Farley Funeral Home, 265 S. Nokomis Ave., Venice, Fl. 34285 on Friday, February 28th from 2 – 4 pm.
