Linda Relacion Oosahwe
July 10th, 1953 - February 25th, 2025
Linda Relacion Oosahwe was called home February 25, 2025 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 71. Linda was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 10, 1953. Linda was surrounded in love by her family: husband of 50 years, Leon Oosahwe; her three children Quannee Mokihana Oosahwe, Evening Star Leinaala Oosahwe Yellowfish and Keokuk “Buboy” Hokule’a Oosahwe; and son-in-law Easton Wade Yellowfish. Linda had four grandchildren whom she adored: grandsons Matthew Cody Thompson, Reignen Makoa Yellowfish, and Pacer Iolani Yellowfish, as well as best friend and only granddaughter Kai Keeyoog Perkins.
Linda’s parents were Canuto and Faustina “Flora” Relacion. She was born and raised in Hawaii with her four siblings: Betty Jean Relacion, Susan Relacion Vasquez, Calvin Relacion (deceased), and Rachael Gayle Relacion. She grad from Waipahu High School, Class of 1971 and earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
When she moved to the mainland, she became a Librarian and Administrative Assistant working for organizations like Dine’ College, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Window Rock Unified School District, Harley Davidson, Arizona Indian Gaming Association and the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona.
Born and raised in Hawaii, she found an early love for sewing and Hula. She became a master seamstress known for her quilts, and her Bluebird and Hawaiian print aprons. She could sew anything! Linda danced Hula at a young age and returned to Hula in her 50s. She was still dancing Hula until the time of her passing.
Linda was known for her zest for life, her infectious laugh, and generous nature. She lived life by her own rules and often colored outside the lines. She was known for keeping it real, eating dessert first, and always ready for a good meal or shopping trip. Throughout her life, people gravitated toward Linda and she developed many meaningful friendships.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at The Palms at Augusta Ranch Clubhouse in Mesa, AZ. Linda believed in returning to the place that you came from and will be journeying home to her beloved island where she will be laid to rest at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary in Mililani, Hawaii.
