Mary Virginia "Jenny" Woodford Dalton, 78, of Lynchburg, passed away at Lynchburg General Hospital on March 1, 2025. She was the wife of James "Jim" Dalton, Sr..
Born April 9, 1946 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late George Edward Woodford and Helen Leftwich Woodford. She was retired from B&W Naval Nuclear as a computer security supervisor and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by two sons, Patrick "Pete" Dalton (Susan) of Rustburg and James Dalton (Monica) of Madison Heights; one sister, Kathryne Dudley of Forest; four grandchildren, Jacob Dalton, Emma Dalton, Samuel Dalton, and Laura Dalton.
She was predeceased by two sisters; Shirley Tibbs and Carolyn Harris.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Chase Hinson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Lakewood Baptist Church.
