With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Dora Mares, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Dora passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at 99.

Born in Niwot, Colorado, on December 11, 1925, Dora lived a life full of love, laughter, and remarkable resilience through many challenges. She was a woman of deep faith, which guided her throughout her life. Many will remember Dora's warm smile, gentle nature and kind heart.

As we remember Dora, let's hold onto the lessons she taught us: to embrace life wholeheartedly and cherish our moments with those we hold dear. Her legacy lives on through the love and memories we carry with us. She showed us the true meaning of living with grace, compassion, humility, joy, humor and strength.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mares, whom she was married to for nearly 51 years.

Dora is survived by her beloved daughter Mary and son-in-law Leo, her sister Delia Hammons, her brother John Montoya, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
