Charles “Charlie” Brian Skinner, born on February 7, 1963, in Lake Wales, FL, passed away peacefully at his residence in High Springs, FL, surrounded by his beloved family on March 2, 2025, at the age of 62.

After graduating from high school, Charlie proudly served in the Navy, stationed in Alaska, Oregon, and Diego Garcia. Later, he reunited with and married the love of his life, Ana Skinner, who he affectionately called Sunshine. Charlie lived his life with passion and zest. Known for his charismatic personality and his genuine love of people, he enjoyed a successful career as an independent distributor with Archway Cookies and later Peet’s Coffee.  He was fondly known as "the Cookie Man” and  “the Coffee Man”.

Charlie was deeply committed to giving back to his community and had a true passion for cooking. He found joy in preparing meals for both his family and through charity events by the High Springs Lion Club, where he was a member and proudly served as President for two years. Charlie originated one of his favorite events in memory of his mother, smoking meats for the annual hog roast at his church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found comfort in attending Lake Wales Lutheran Church and later, the Newberry Church of Christ.

Charlie was known for his positive outlook on life, his authenticity, his patience, and his kindness, which left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was an incredibly resilient, and selfless person. His ability to persevere through complex health challenges while still offering comfort and love to others is truly inspiring. Charlie reminds us of the strength of the human spirit and how important it is to find joy and positivity, even in grave circumstances. His presence could brighten any room, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all those who knew him. While he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, they find solace in the cherished memories he created with them and peace knowing that he is now in the arms of Jesus.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Ana, and his treasured bonus daughters Stephanie Johnson (Lorenzo), Morgan St. Maria (Matt) and Natalie Netterville (Chris). He was a proud and devoted Pappy to his eight grandchildren: D’Angelo, Gabriel, Olivia, Graysen, Tyler, Cora, Ella, and Ana. He also leaves behind his siblings Walter Skinner (Faye), James Skinner (Kelley), Teri Connolly, and Lori Glasco (Greg), along with nephew, Gabe and nieces, Katie and Tina, and an abundance of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Barbara Skinner, and half-brothers Ray and Wayne Skinner.

The Skinner family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Malcom Randall VA Hospital, UF Health Shands Unit 87, and Haven Hospice nurses Cassandra, Merry, and Debbie for the exceptional care provided over the past several months. They would also like to give a special thank you to Andrew Hix, Dr. Donald Scott, Dr. Ariane Harris, Dr. William Rios, the UF Health Clinic Physicians, and all their medical staff for their dedicated care over the years.

A Celebration of Life for Charlie will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate the love we shared with him.

In lieu of flowers, in Charlie's honor, donation inquiries may be sent  to: [email protected]
