In Loving Memory

Peggy was born March 3, 1944, in Bamberg, South Carolina, to Morgan and Josephine Saunders Fralick. On July 22, 1972, she and George Berry Goley were married. Together, they nurtured a family of three sons.

Peggy was a proud graduate of Bamberg High School. She continued her education at Winthrop University and earned a degree in elementary education. Following graduation, she was selected as a third-grade teacher at Seven Oaks School in Lexington School District 5. She continued teaching until starting her family. She maintained a passion for teaching and served as a teacher in the preschool department at First Baptist in Columbia. She and George also taught in the Wednesday night Mission Friends program.

Peggy was also a school volunteer in several schools where George served as principal. Peggy's compassion, patience, and love for children were hallmarks of her character. Her unwavering dedication to teaching touched the lives of many at First Baptist, at Seven Oaks, and in several schools in Richland School District One.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 53 years, George B. Goley, and her sons Matthew, Michael, and Jonathan Golightly. Michael is married to April, and Jonathan Golightly is married to Carol. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Joshua, son of Matthew; Ethan and Lauren, children of Michael and April; and Luna, daughter of Jonathan and Carol. She is also survived by her brothers Irvin and Thomas Fralick. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Bob and William Fralick.

Her life’s message is found in the following passage, and it is worthy for us: "Finally, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." (Philippians 4:8-9)
