Foy B. Sears of Haines City, Florida passed away on March 9, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was 97 years old.

Foy was born on September 7, 1927, in Montgomery, Alabama to Oyer W. and Era Chapman Jacobs and moved to Haines City in 1934 from Arrington, Alabama.

She was of the Assembly of God Faith and although she was a homemaker most of her life, she worked various jobs through the years and spent the last 10 years of her work life as a greeter at the Haines City Walmart, only stopping in 2003 to help care for her great granddaughter. Foy was an outdoorswoman, she loved to spend time working in her garden, and baking and cooking, some family favorites were her fried chicken and Christmas cookies. She also enjoyed sewing and making crotchet gifts for all the family members. She was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan, but her true Love was for her family. Some of her family’s fondest memories are, "Scrabble game night and holiday gatherings. She had a heart of gold, and they simply don’t make them like her anymore.”

She was predeceased by her parents, Oyer and Era; husband, William Gerald Sears; brothers, Hubert, Ross and Tommy Jacobs. Foy is survived by her brother Dellon Jacobs and his  wife Diane of Lakeland, Florida; daughters, Debbie Riner of Lakeland, Florida, Bridgett Ginther and her husband, John of Haines City, Florida; sons, Jerry Sears and his wife, Sherry of Bartow, Florida, Randy Sears and his wife, Cathy of Haines City, Florida, and Steve Sears and his wife, Donna of Laurel Hill, Florida; nine grandchildren as well as twenty great grandchildren.

A private family celebration of Foy’s life will be held.
