Mission Mortuary - Seaside
Robert Keala Kaulukukui, Jr.
April 26th, 1940 - January 3rd, 2025
Robert Keala Kaulukukui, Jr. was born in April of 1940, in Honolulu, HI, to Luka Reimann (Napili, Maui) and Robert Kaulukukui (Hilo).
Our father left his beloved Hawaii to make a life for himself and his family. He traveled the globe serving his country, first with a successful military career reaching Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the Army, then again as a contractor. He circled the globe more than three full times, earning his Shellback title along the way. He was tough and old school as a father and as The Chief, but he was fair and made sure you knew it. Dad made lifelong friends everywhere he went in the world and spread Aloha in his own unique way throughout the years. Laughing with family and friends was very important to him and our family as there were often gatherings with friends for potluck dinner, having his guys come to our house for a home-cooked meal, or the many league nights at the bowling alley.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula on Friday, January 3, 2025, with family by his side.
Preceded in death by Father Robert Kaulukukui, Mother Luka Reimann, Brother Charles Kaulukukui, Sr., Wife Pat Kaulukukui (Clark), and Sister-In-Law Dorothy “Jo” Kaulukukui.
Survived by daughter Timi Keala, son Jason Keone (Sayuri), grandchildren Alex Keawe (Madison), Ryan Kaikane, and Hepualaha’ole Kaleikaumaka, Caitlin, Jeremey Jr., Courtney, Mayumi, great-grandchild Maeve. Many more nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
Please join us at 2 pm on April 4, 2025, at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery for his military funeral services.

Mission Mortuary - Seaside
Centrally located on the Monterey Peninsula, Mission Mortuary has been the premier funeral home choice for Monterey and the entire peninsula for decades. Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946, first on Munras Avenue in Monterey and to our current location on Camino El Estero, walking distance to the Pacific Ocean and area cemeteries, in 1952. Despite our long history, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our families. Our facility includes spaces both large and small. Whether a handful of friends and family or a large crowd, we can accommodate all. As a reflection of our commitment to our diverse region, we offer multicultural funerals....
