Maynard Keeling Jones, Jr.

Maynard Keeling Jones, Jr., 80, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Pamela Harvey Jones for 59 years.
Born May 1, 1944, in Danville, VA, he was a son of the late Maynard Keeling Jones, Sr. and Sallie Ruth Booker Jones. He was also preceded in death by one son, Phillip Keeling Jones, and one sister, Anna Ruth Jones.
Maynard was raised on a tobacco farm, where he plowed with mules. He was a known collector of old tools and farm equipment, an avid lover of live bluegrass music, a self-taught jack-of-all-trades, and a frequent outdoor cook for large groups of hungry people. By day, he was a (Va. Tech-educated) civil engineer, designing and modifying large-scale water and wastewater treatment plants. So, your glass of clean tap water is thanks, in part, to him.
In addition to his wife, Pam, he is survived by one son, Matthew and his wife ; one sister, Marsha Jones of Harrisonburg, VA; three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at11:00 AM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Peakland United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Cailles officiating. Interment will be private in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
