Mary Lois Kellogg
December 12th, 1932 - March 14th, 2025
Mary Lois Kellogg, also affectionately known as Mary Lois in high school and more recently as Miss Mary, passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 92. A resident of Nokomis, Florida she was born on December 12, 1932 in Plattsburgh, NY. A retired dental assistant, Mary resided in La Crosse, WI, Spencerport, NY, Norcross, GA, Tyler, TX and Venice, FL before moving to Nokomis.
Mary had a unique gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved - whether through her beautiful smile, warm embrace, kind word or her unwavering support. Her love for the community shined in every aspect of her life. From her time in the Private Order of Night Owls (PONOs) in high school to the many choirs she graced (St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, Spencerport, NY, St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Rochester, NY, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Venice, FL), Mary brought joy and harmony to all. She was a beacon of light in every neighborhood she called home.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jack E. Kellogg of Nokomis; three daughters, Sharon A. (Jeremy) Cates of Bastrop, TX, Joni L. Yost and her partner, David Foster of Rochester, NY, Lisa A. (Yost) LeBlanc of Richmond, CA; two sons, Steven R. (Sherry Jinks) Yost of Syracuse, UT, Alan G. (Elizabeth Fien) Yost of Austin, TX; two brothers, Carl P. (Nancy Trainor) Glotz of Richmond, VA, Edward P. Glotz of La Crosse, WI and a sister, Barbara A. Kohner of Minneapolis, MN. Mary is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Richard G. Yost of over 50 years; 2nd husband, Donald C. Meminger; father, Bernard Emile Glotz; mother, Ruth Elizabeth Morrison; three brothers, Norman B. Glotz, Robert C. Glotz, William J. Glotz and a daughter, Linda M. (Yost) Poire, married and survived by Roger E. Poire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Road, in Venice on Monday, March 31, 2025 with interment to follow in the church memorial garden. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity in Mary’s name.
