It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Franklin McGhee, who passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 67, at his home in Blythewood, SC. Born on May 16, 1957, in Georgia, to the late Joseph and Eddie (Harper) McGhee, Jerry was a devoted husband and loving father, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth. Jerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Chong; his sons, Jerry Jr, Joseph and Juman; and his brother, Joseph.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home directly following the family visitation with Pastor Sanders and Pastor Kim officiating. Interment will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229 at 1:00 PM with full military honors to be rendered.
