Doris Ann Bond Smith, 86, of Floodwood, MN passed away on Friday, March 14,2025. She was born on October 30, 1938, in Blackhawk County, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Glenn and Frances Bond.
Doris married Morris D. Smith on August 6, 1955, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Doris and Morris moved to Minnesota in 1978, where they worked as farmers until 1987.
Doris was a wife, farmer, and a mother to nine children. She enjoyed gardening, especially enjoyed flowers, and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris went to nursing school to become a LPN, and went on to work at Sunny Side Nursing Home and Senior Friend, where she was a volunteer driver. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Morris D. Smith; parents Glenn and Frances Bond; sisters Karen, Gwyn, and Ilene; brothers Glenn, Gene, and John; son Richard; and daughter, Faith Marie; son in law, Mike Leino; grandson in law, Tyler Adams.
She is survived by her children; Daniel (Sheryl) Smith, Tom (Gail) Smith, Timothy Smith, Phillip Smith, Elizabeth Leino, Mary Hakala, Matthew Smith; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; sisters Pat and Janet; and her brother Jerry.
Doris’ service and visitation will be held at New Life Church, in Floodwood, MN on Saturday, March 29. A visitation will be held at 10am, with the service following at 11am.
