Mary Ellen Moss Born in Savannah, Illinois on October 14, 1922 to James and Mary Connelly. Mary passed away in Portland, Oregon on August 3, 2015 of natural causes, at 92 years young, surrounded by her immediate family and close personal friends. Mary, a wonderful homemaker and Mother to five children, James (Pat), John (Carol), Jerry, Judy Cressey (Larry) and Jan. Three grandchildren, Sara Kennison (Shane), Heidi Seitters (Rick) and Tom Moss, and three great-grandchildren, Brook, Levi and Kaylee. Mary moved to Portland in 1945 from San Diego, after the Second World War, and lived in her home on Riverwood Road, in the Dunthorpe neighborhood, for 61 years. Her last several years were spent at The Springs at Carmen Oaks Retirement Center in Lake Oswego, Oregon. After losing her husband in 1963, Mary's work life was varied but after the last of her children were grown, she spent 17 years with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, Wage and Hour Division, as a Payroll Inspector, retiring in 1986. Mary was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Oswego but requested no service be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Wheel to Walk Foundadtion, PO Box 20146, Portland, Oregon 97294, or a charity of your choice. Service Information

At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks....
